Berkeley County Coroner George Oliver says the deceased were Acacio Carro (45), Jose Torrez-Padilla (39) and Salvador Dominguez (32).

The three victims were outside their homes on Oakside Drive later Friday night when Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office investigators say they were approached by two would-be robbers.

The encounter turned deadly, as all three were shot. Two of the shooting victims later died at a hospital. A third suspect died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

Jabaari Kayon Ferguson and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested Monday, July 6, in connection to the murders, the sheriff’s office said.

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said Monday his department has investigated a considerable number of arm robberies targeting Hispanics living in the Goose Creek area.

Lewis said Ferguson and the juvenile murder suspect are both believed to be connected to more of those robberies, and detectives are working to determine if their arrests may yield new information on past incidents.
