Bernard Geasley Death – The authorities have confirmed and released the identity of the man who drowned in the River Lee near the Regional Park in Ballincollig, Co Cork on Sunday, August 2, as 38-year-old Bernard Geasley, of Innishmore in Ballincollig.
According to reports, Geasley was fishing with his friends in the river before the sad incident took place.

At around 8.p.m on Sunday, Geasley’s brother was struggling in the water and he went to rescue him and got into trouble as well. He went under the water and never resurface, says the report.
The onlookers raised an alarm on a possible drowning and the search for Geasley commenced.
The Gardai, Cork Fire Brigade and Cork river rescue units assisted in the search operation. Sonar scanners where also used by divers to locate the body.
The search team found Geasley’s body shortly after 1 a.m on Monday, August 3, 2020. He was recovered from the water by the Mallow Search and Rescue.
His body was transferred to Cork University Hospital for an autopsy.
Geasley’s demise is being investigated and is ruled as tragic accident.
