Bill Gilbreth Death | Bill Gilbreth Obituary – Bill Gilbreth; Abilene Christian’s first, and so far only, baseball product to reach the major leagues has passed away. He died at the age of 72. The ACU athletic department twitter account tweeted that Gilbreth died from “complications following emergency heart surgery” on Sunday, 12th of July 2020.

Bill Gilbreth played in 11 games with the Tigers over two seasons. In 1974, Gilbreth appeared in three games with the California Angels. Following his pro baseball career Gilbreth became ACU’s head coach when the university decided to resurrect the program in 1991.
