Brian Rainey Death – The Ottumwa Police Department have released the identity of the man who was accidentally shot on Tuesday morning, August 11 around 7.20 a.m on the 700 block of Edwards Drive as 35-year-old Brian Rainey, of rural Mahaska County, Iowa.
According to the police, Rainey was shot in the trunk and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Rainey was before his demise a deputy sheriff for the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office. He was off-duty at the time of this sad incident.
Investigation is still ongoing.
