FireFighter Death: Captain Michael Malinowski has passed away. He died on Tuesday, December 3rd. 2019 after falling ill and was transported to the hospital.
According to report, on Monday evening Morton Rutledge Volunteer Fire Co. Capt. Michael Malinowski responded to the report of trees and wires down just after 8 p.m. in Nether Providence. Following the call, Malinowski reported to officers that he was feeling ill.
Tuesday morning Malinowski reported to work at his career job where he suffered a significant medical event, and was transported to the hospital. Malinowski died a short time later.
In a Wednesday release, Delaware County Council offered its condolences to Malinowski’s family.
“Delaware County Council extends deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Morton Rutledge Volunteer Fire Co. No. 13 Fire Capt. Michael Malinowski. On Dec. 2 Capt. Malinowski responded to an emergency event. The following day Capt. Malinowski was transported to a local hospital and sadly, he passed away a short time later.”
