Chelsea Ireland Death – Following the Suppression placed by the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday, August 24, the identity of the couple that were shot and killed in South Australia has been confirmed, but so far only the identity of the female victim identified as 19-year-old Chelsea Ireland is released.

The young couple who were childhood sweethearts met their early end on Saturday, August 22 at a rural property near Millicent during a family visit, says the police.

Preliminary investigation revealed that they were killed by Ireland’s boyfriend’s father.

According to 7NEWS, the suspect’s wife and daughter were at home at the time and they had to hide and wait for police to arrive.

Reports have it that the deceased sweethearts met on an overseas school trip and had been dating for several years.

When detectives visited Ireland’s family home in Adelaide on Monday, they met a devastated father who describe the couple as “good young kids”.
“Two beautiful young kids… taken too early in really unfortunate circumstances,” he said in a statement.

Christian Brothers College, which was Ireland’s boyfriend’s former school has extended its condolences to the couple’s loved ones.

“Our CBC community is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of old scholar,” it said.

“Students from the class of 2018 have rallied together to support each other as they grieve over the loss of their ‘brother’.
“Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.

“We are also thinking of and praying for Chelsea, her family and friends, and the broader St Mary’s community, united in grief at this tragic time.”

The suspect was arrested and is in police custody to be arraigned in the court on a later date.
