Christopher Bonilla was shot and killed on Sunday, November 17, in Lynbrook Park. The 18-year-old had recently moved to the city in June from New Jersey.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m., Bonilla was at the park with another person when he was shot severally. At least six shots were fired, police said.
Detectives said the shooting involved marijuana, although police were unable to say if it was a drug deal or robbery gone bad.
As neighbors gathered, paramedics worked at the scene to stabilize Bonilla, who was taken by ambulance to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, where he was later pronounced dead.
