Christopher Ullman Death – Obituary, Funeral, Cause Of Death
The Boerne Police Department is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of the driver.
On Aug. 2, at approximately 8:18 a.m., Boerne Police were dispatched to the 37000 block of I-10 westbound for a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the officers located a white Subaru that crashed into the guardrail on the bridge above Ranger Creek Road.
The resulting collision killed the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The collision also caused extensive damage to the guardrail of the westbound lanes of I-10 and required its closure for several hours. Ranger Creek Road under the interstate was also closed during this time.
Traffic was diverted onto the access road. The main lanes of I-10 were safely reopened at approximately 3:30 p.m., after TxDOT made the necessary repairs.
At this time, it is believed the driver lost control in the heavy rain and standing water on the interstate, causing the driver to crash into the guardrail.
Paramedics with the Kendall County EMS were unable to resuscitate the victim, Christopher Ullman, 63.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Michelle Van Stavern. Next of kin has been notified. This is Boerne’s third fatal traffic crash of 2021.
