Colin A. Grassick Death | Colin A. Grassick Obituary – Colin A. Grassick, a Galion man and child were killed on Tuesday in a two-vehicle fatal crash in Franklin Township in Mansfield. The crash at approximately 12:44 p.m., on Bowman Street Road, just north of Amoy East Road in Franklin Township, Richland County. Colin A. Grassick, 28, of Galion, was driving a 2009 Ford Escape, north on Bowman Street Road. Grassick drove left of center and struck a vehicle driven by Melvin G. Sparks, who was driving south on Bowman Street Road in a 2007 Freightliner Semi.
Grassick was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both of his juvenile passengers were transported from the scene by EMS personnel. A two-year-old male passenger died of his injuries at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after being flown from Ohio Health Mansfield. The second passenger, a six-year-old female, is recovering at Ohio Health Mansfield. Sparks was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield with minor injuries and was later discharged. All occupants of both vehicles were properly restrained. The crash remains under investigation. It is unknown at this time whether alcohol or drugs are a factor in the crash.
