Hanover Public Schools’s teacher Courney Nevile’s Obituary & Funeral
Memorial, Courtney Nevile has passed away. The cause of her death is unknown at this time but Boston25News reported she died after a brief illness. Her obituary was released on the school’s official Facebook page

Our entire school community is shocked and saddened to learn that one of our teachers, Courtney Neville, has passed away after a sudden and brief illness. Mrs. Neville worked in both of our elementary schools, and she is a revered colleague and friend to all of us at HPS. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, Courtney dedicated her professional life so that children could share their words, thoughts, and feelings without fear and with the confidence and clarity to challenge the future and live the life of their dreams. Her passing is an immeasurable loss for all of us. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family, friends, colleagues, and students.
Counselors are available this morning in all of our schools to support our students, staff, and any members of our school community during this difficult time. The timing of this notification makes it challenging for parents to share this information, or not, with their children in the way they may prefer. Our teachers and counselors are trained and ready to help our children in any way that it is needed today, and as this news spreads throughout our community in the days ahead. There are many close friends and family members in our community in need of support, and we will use our very best professional judgement to keep all of our children emotionally safe and supported based on their ages and any issues that may arise throughout the day. Please trust that we will do everything possible to make this a good day for children at HPS in a caring and compassionate environment. Our elementary and middle school principals will be sharing more information with families about how to best support our children, and they will provide resources to help parents talk to your children about loss. At this time, we do not have any information regarding the reason for her passing. If information becomes available that warrants sharing, that will be done at the appropriate time. For now, we are focused on the comfort and healing of our school community and to be a source of support for Mrs. Neville’s family and friends.
