Almond Turner Cause of Death | Memorial
69-year-old Almond Turner of Covington was shot and killed at a family birthday party Saturday, November 23, 2019.
Turner was fatally shot by 41-year-old Christopher Denson who reportedly left the family party, went to his vehicle and walked back inside with anAK-47 rifle.
Denson then fired five or six shots, killing his uncle, Almond Turner, 69, of Covington, Georgia, police said.
Turner was a retired assistant police chief in Covington, a member of the Newton County, Georgia Board of Education and a deacon at a church, according to The Covington News.
It was quite a tragedy. The shooter’s motive has not been known.
