Dale Watene Death | Dale Watene Obituary – The case of Dale Watene, 40, who was initially reported missing in April after he hadn’t been seen for a week and found dead in May 21 in the Longwood Forestry block, west of Invercargill, has been reopened as two people have been charged in relation to the murder of Southland man Dale Watene. Police say a 30 year old woman has been charged with murder and a 23 year old man with accessory after the fact to murder. They are due to appear in Invercargill District Court on Tuesday. Police say they aren’t looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
“Police would like to thank the Otautau community for their support and assistance over the last four months,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Harvey says. Mr Watene’s family have been advised of the latest development and they wish to thank Southland Police for the investigation.”
