Reactions And Sharing On Damaso Garcia Passing
RIP Damaso Garcia. Seeing his stats, a better player than I recalled. Traded from Yanks to Jays in ’79 with Chris Chambliss for Rick Cerone, who replaced Thurman Munson, killed months earlier.

Dámaso Garcia and Tony Fernandez were both huge parts of our success for the @BlueJays. And they helped put our franchise on the baseball map. And I will be forever grateful to both of those fine gentlemen! Gone, but never forgotten! pic.twitter.com/jxYkjtNl9l

RIP Damaso Garcia He had his best years with the Blue Jays from 80-86. He won a Silver Slugger award in 82.
A year after he retired he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. In 1991 he had it removed and was told he only had six months to live. #baseballcards pic.twitter.com/HVTE8qfagk

RIP Damaso Garcia. Quietly a very key piece of the Blue Jays ascent to the AL East title in 1985. Never seemed to get the modern day accolades like a few others but make no mistake, he was a wonderful player to watch as a child. Hard-nosed, proud and respected – a good man. pic.twitter.com/B6E1oRuzFB

I grew up watching Damaso Garcia play for the Jays. It was a real treat. Many great memories. My favorite stat. He walked 130 times his entire MLB career. Perspective. Jose Bautista walked 132 times in 2011. RIP.
