Darnell D. Johnson Death – The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office have identified a man who was killed after a wrong-way driver collided into his car in Berrien County on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2020, as 28-year-old Darnell D. Johnson, of Benton Harbor.

The  authorities were called for a report of a dark SUV driving the wrong way on northbound St. Joseph Valley Parkway, says the police. While searching for the wrong-way vehicle, around 3 a.m. there was a report of a collision crash at the 9 mile marker in Niles Township, near the Indiana border.

Upon the officers arrival on the scene, they found a 29-year-old woman outside of GMC Arcadia, refusing medical treatment. They also found the driver of a Ford Fusion who had been ejected from his car and pronounced dead at the scene, says the sheriff’s office.

The female driver of the GMC Arcadia was later taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Potential charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death are being reviewed by the prosecutors.

Investigation is still ongoing.
