Loftin Family Reunion : Prayers for our Loftin Family. Michael was the grandson of Theodore “Speed” and Marie Loftin.
Michael David Loftin, age 56, of Newton passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his residence. Born May 9, 1961 in Catawba County, he was the son of Lou Mayhew Loftin and the late Davis Loftin. Michael worked for Comm Scope for over 20 years and was presently employed at GKN in Maiden. He worked with his dad on the family farm and at Loftin’s Arena in Catawba and was well known for his work in a lot of Rodeo’s, horse shows and team pinnings. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter; Christina Loftin Clark and brother-in-law; Thomas Howard. He is survived by: Wife: Dawn “Nikki” Martin Loftin of the home Daughter: April Loftin of Catawba Son: Jesse James Loftin of the home Mother: Lou Mayhew Loftin of Catawba Step-daughter: Brittney Beheler and husband Josh of Newton Granddaughter: Lacey Clark 2 Grandsons: Lane Clark and Jasper Beam Sister: Mechelle Loftin Howard of Catawba Sister-in-law: Renee Hentschel and husband Rex of Newton Son-in-law: Tim Clark of Catawba A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Rev. Charles Worley officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from12:00-12:45 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to: Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658. The family extends a special thanks to Hospice Nurse Patty Goodwin for her special care. Burke Mortuary & Crematory in Newton is serving the Loftin family.
