Dontae Ray McGinty death & obituary: 28-year-old man was fatally shot on Sunday, January 20, 2020 by another man.
According to report, McGinty was armed with a large knife in which afterwards he was shot dead by another man at his Phonix apartment complex.
The shooting occurred on Sunday afternoon near Hazelwood street and 26th drive. According to the Phonix police department who arrived the scene of the shooting after an emergency call by the shooter, McGinty was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to witnesses, McGnity was shot dead by an unidentified 25-year-old after he made attempts to stab another person. A large knife was found with McGinty at the scene of the incident.
The shooter who cooperated with the officers by dialing 911 was taken into custody and was later released.
