Dr. Ari Gershman Tragic End – During a holiday trip to Sierra County, near the California-Nevada border, a husband and a father of three was shot to death, on Friday July 3.

The authorities have identified the victim as 45-year-old Dr. Ari Gershman, a pulmonary doctor, who was off-roading in his jeep, with his 15-year-old teenage son before he met his tragic end.

This ugly incident occurred in a remote area of the Tahoe National Forest, north of Highway 49.

According to a GoFundMe account, his teenage son was able to escape the gunman. He hid and survived in the wilderness for more than 30hours before he was found on Saturday by rescuers

The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office reported in a Facebook post that the boy was found in good health and needed no medical attention.

The Sheriff continued by saying that the law enforcement officers encountered the suspect driving an ATV shortly after they found the boy.

Although they tried to stop him, the suspect was able to escape and drove off heading to the community of Downieville.

Authorities reports that the suspect was later caught about one mile north of Highway 49.

Following investigations, it was discovered that the suspect is also accused of shooting two other people on same day Dr. Gershman was shot in a remote northwestern section of the county, who were later taken to the hospital and are expected to make it.

Investigators are still on the case to determine the motive behind the shooting.

According to the GoFundMe account, the deceased wife, Paige is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

The crowdfunding site states the ages of the couple’s children as 16, 15, and 10.

$150,000 had been raised toward the $250,000 goal as of Tuesday morning.
