We are devastated to share that one of our veterinarians, Dr. Samantha Schwalje, passed away unexpectedly last weekend. PAWS staff and the animal rescue community have lost a caring and talented colleague, and we are in mourning. We can’t count how many animals Dr. Sam expertly treated during her time at PAWS, or how many foster parents and pet owners received her guidance and reassurance. As a teammate, friend, and true advocate for animals, she will be deeply missed. We have included photos of just a few of the formerly homeless pets who are healthier and happier today thanks to her skilled and compassionate care.
