Reactions And Sharing By The Loved Ones Of Ed Rohr Concerning His Passing
A beautiful soul lost too soon, Ed. It is hard to believe we had just chatted last Friday about our horses. My earliest memories of you are from visiting Rohr farm as a kid for Labor Day picnics, and thinking to myself I would have a farm just like you some day!Thank you for all the sawdust and hay you provided when I finally got that farm.Thank you for letting me drop off my chickens at your farm as a kid when winter was approaching and I had no barn to keep them in.Most notably and hilariously, thank you for saving your cousin/my momBarbara’s butt a year or two ago when she bought 2 tons of tile and had no way to move it!As everyone who has posted already knows, Ed had never met a stranger in life, and would give the shirt off his back for you. His giving spirit lives on even through his death with the tremendous gift of his retinas to someone in need. My heart goes out to the rest of his family, friends, and loved ones who are all experiencing a huge hole in their hearts at the momentIt is with deepest sadness, I make this post. We have lost a dear friend, strong equine supporter, youth equine supporter and most respected humanitarian. Ed Rohr lost his life Saturday night in a motorcycle accident only a couple of miles from his home after a day of riding and backyard enjoyment with friends. He was one of those very special people who would give anyone, even a stranger, the very shirt off his back, repair a roof, fix a barn, or loan his equipment without being asked….just show up and the work was done. He was our first OHIO Mount N Trail Awards sponsor. Ed Rohr will be greatly missed.
