Edward Gendron death & obituary : On Monday, 20th January 2020 a man was shot dead around 12:30pm, at 81 Craig Ave.
Veteran Waterbury police officer Ronald W. Tompkins III of 81 Craig Ave. who has been in service since 1889, shot and murded 57-year-old Gendron of Waterbury.
Local police officers were called to 81 Craig Ave. by noon due to complains from the landlord, that a tenant had found bullet holes on the wall of the apartment.
Gendron displayed a gun to Tompkins who was the first arriving officer to check out the report, a disagreement ensued between the two parties leading to the death of Gendron as Tompkins fired his service weapon.
