Eric Lurry Death | Eric Lurry Obituary – Eric Lurry has been confirmed dead. The Will County state’s attorney’s office on Thursday, 2nd of July 2020 said Joliet police were not at fault for the death in January of a man who was arrested during a drug investigation 11 hours before he passed away.The state’s attorney’s office and the county coroner’s office issued statements that 37 years old Eric Lurry from Joliet died of an accidental overdose and that Joliet police officers were not at fault.
According to reports, “Dashcam video came out this week of Lurry’s arrest. The video, which police showed to reporters Wednesday, shows an officer slapping Lurry; an act officials said might have been done to rouse him; and referring to him in a profane manner. The officer also was seen holding Lurry’s nostrils, an act officials said was done to prevent Lurry from swallowing drugs. The video also shows another officer putting a collapsible baton into Lurry’s mouth, an action officials said was done to retrieve plastic bags that contained drugs and to prevent the officer from being bitten.” Lurry was transported to Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, where he died.
