Around 3:30 p.m on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, the police receive a 911 call after the deceased victim’s sister went to check on him and found a gruesome site.
His head and limbs were later found in the apartment according to a police spokesperson.
Another law enforcement officials briefed that there were several plastic bags in the apartment which means effort had been made to clean up any evidence of what occurred.
According to investigation which commenced immediately, there is an evidence of a struggle and the surveillance video shows a person of interest entering the building with his face covered, carrying a package or a bag which was believed to contain the electric saw.
The footage shows that Saleh was seen alive on Monday and was killed in the last 24 hours, says the police.
A co-owner of the Subject cocktail bar across the street of the building identified as Leslie Feinberg told CBS2’s Alice Gainer said: “I saw a young woman in the lobby speaking with a number of police officer very clearly really, really distressed.”
“This is a tight-knit neighborhood. I would say the majority of the people in the building come to the bar. We know a lot of them. If nothing else, at least we know their faces. We recognize them, we say hello, that kind of thing. It’s just tragic. It’s horrible. Particularly in the midst of so much tragedy already, it’s just horrible.”
“Seems like that’s a pretty secure unit, too, so it’s pretty terrifying,” another neighbor says.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind this act and no arrests have been made so far.
