Elyria Family Death – On Wednesday morning, the Elyria Police Department confirmed 5 family members who were found dead inside a home in Willowpark Road in Elyria on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
The police is yet to release the cause of death as investigation into this tragic occurrence is ongoing.

According to the reports from the neighbors to 19 news, it is believed to be a murder suicide.
A relative of the family, Ben Runyon(a cousin) reports that a father, mother and their three kids(two girls and a boy) lived in the home.
Their bodies were discovered when the father’s boss came to check on him when he didn’t show up for work. When no one answered the door, the boss knew something wasn’t right.
The deceased cousin, Runyon is still devastated on the loss of 5 members of his family in one day.
In Runyon’s statement about his cousin, he said, “He was you know quiet, family oriented. All this is a shock. I don’t understand it. The police aren’t talking to anyone. They were trying to get a hold of his mother and I haven’t talked to her yet but I’ve talked to pretty much everyone else in the family and no one knows what’s going on.”
According to Investigators, they were on their welfare check at around 8. am and found the family lifeless in their home.
Runyon continues, “I know they were trying to get out of this neighborhood and move out to the country somewhere and he just wanted to stay busy with the kids and keep them out of trouble so none of this is making any sense, were just lost right now.”
“They were a typical family. They kept the three kids busy. They were in baseball and volleyball and soccer and ballet. There was two boys and a girl and the wife worked as a nurse and he worked down the road at a plastic bag factory and he lived here his entire life. He was 44 years old.”
A neighbor, Renetta Hubbard, who had lived next door for more than 2 decades reports to 19 News that she heard gunshots last night.
“I thought it was fireworks at first, but it was gunshots. My husband jumped up out of bed, he said those were gunshots.”
With a teary eyes Hubbard said, “I just feel so bad that maybe if I would’ve called yesterday, I could’ve saved somebody,”
The Elyria Police Department and Lorain County Coroner’s Office are handling the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the demise of this family.
