Former Housing Minister’s Wife Cheong Guek Mee Died – Puan Sri Cheong Guek Mee, age 63 wife of former housing & local government minister Tan Sri Chor Chee Heung passed away on July 8 at Kedah Medical Centre (KMC).
She leaves behind a son, Chor Jack, 34, and two daughters Dr Chor Jean, 29, and Chor Jayne, 32.
Chor, 66, said,”On July 7, about 7am, my wife told me she was not feeling well and having tightness in the chest.”
“She was placed at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but suffered another heart failure around 2.30 pm on July 8,” he said when met at his house at Taman Lumba Kuda here.
Former MCA president and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) chancellor Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik
accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Ena Ling, UTAR council members Datuk Lee Leck Cheng and Datuk Lim Si Cheng, Alor Setar MCA division chairman Datuk Chong Itt Chew, MCA veteran Tan Sri William Chek and other leadership members arrived on Friday (July 10) to pay last respect to Cheong.
Also present were state PKR chairman Datuk Johari Abdul and vice-chairman Simon Ooi.
Funeral ArrangementÂ
The funeral service will be held on July 12 at 10 am at No.2550E, Taman Lumba Kuda, Alor Setar.
The cortege will leave for cremation at the Nian En Memorial Park at Kebun 500 in Pokok Sena.
