George Gilchrist has died, he was an amazing National Science Foundation. His friends are colleague are mourning his death.
We learnt about his death through Twitter tributes from concerned individuals.
Will Ratcliff said: This is really sad news. George was my PO for the better part of a decade, and was unfailingly thoughtful and generous with his time as he helped me navigate the world of NSF. I was really looking forward to seeing him next week at a panel. Gutted.
Susan Perkins said: Incredibly sad day. Learned that my dear friend, George Gilchrist has passed away. George was a wonderful colleague at @NSF , but became a beloved friend over these years. My heart goes out to his family and the others who will also miss this amazing man.
