Gerard Pitre Death – The Ontario Provincial Police have released the identity of a male victim who drowned to death in the French River on Monday, July 27 as 72-year-old Gerard Pitre of Windsor.
According to reports, Pitre disappeared after he went swimming around 8.10 p.m near the dock at a cottage he was renting.

The search team were the Nipissing West OPP Marine Unit and the OPP Aviation Services-Helicopter Section. They searched the waters but were unsuccessful in their search.
His body was found on Tuesday, July 28.
An autopsy has been scheduled to aid determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing and being directed by the office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS).
