Tributes To Gordon Forbes
So sorry to learn of the passing of Gordon Forbes. “Gordo” was the Inquirer’s Eagles beat writer for many years before going to USA Today. Nobody was more knowledgeable about the game.
He was a tough, investigative journalist. He was also encouraging to a young broadcaster.— Merrill Reese (@mreeseeagles) June 26, 2020
Damn. Didnt realize that old. Learned lot from him at the inky. Gordon forbes was constantly working the phones covering eagles an nfl. Had the commissioner on speed dial before it was invented. Used to invite me up to reading on my days off when Eagles trained.

Oh no. RIP Gordon Forbes, former Eagles beat writer for the Inquirer. Not just a true professional and expert on the NFL but a decent man who treated me with so much respect when I was a young, bumbling beat guy for a suburban paper.
