Hal Bernson served the northwestern San Fernando Valley for 24 years and was popularly known for Earthquake Policy. According to City Attorney Mike Feuer, Hal Bernson died on Tuesday, 21st of July 2020 at the age of 89. Harold M. Bernson, known as Hal Bernson, was a Northridge, California, clothier who was a Los Angeles City Council member for 24 years, from 1979 until his retirement in 2003.
A conservative Republican, he was a leading proponent of the San Fernando Valley seceding from the rest of Los Angeles. We extend our condolences.
