Herman Ginger, O.D Death | Herman Ginger, O.D Obituary – A longtime AOA member and past president of the Arkansas Optometric Association, Herman Ginger, O.D has died. 78 years old Dr. Herman Horton Ginger, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 24, 2020. Dr. Ginger was a member of the American Optometric Association for 52 years. He served is various other capacities in the AOA, including Volunteer Appointments from 2001-2018, Communications Group Advisory Committee from 2001-2003, Congress Exhibits Committee from 2003-2007, Optometry’s Meeting Exhibits Committee from 2007-2010 and Meetings Center Executive Committee from 2010-2018.
According to his obituary page, in April of 2019 Dr. Ginger was awarded the President’s Award for Distinguished Service to Optometry from the American Optometric Association.He also served as an InfantSEE and Vision USA volunteer and as President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Southwest Council of Optometry. Dr. Ginger served as President of the Arkansas Optometric Association in 1999 and earned the Lifetime of Excellence Award from the Arkansas Optometric Association in 2014.
