After a long, hard-fought battle against COVID-19, he passed away due to COVID-19 on Sunday, 19th of July 2020, an employee confirmed to ABC News 4.
According to a GoFundMe set up in his honor, Hugh O’Neill, the manager of Cantina 76 on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant, was diagnosed with the virus on July 1. He was sent to the ICU and spent nearly three weeks fighting the virus in ICU. On Sunday, they updated the GoFundMe, announcing his death.
