Hunter Hughes Death – The Lafayette Police Department have confirmed and release the identity of the pedestrian struck to death on Wednesday morning, August 5, after a crash as 37-year-old Hunter Hughes of Houston.
At 6.15 a.m on Wednesday morning, the police responded to a fatal crash on the Evangeline Thruway. The crash involved a pedestrian and a vehicle, says the spokesperson for the police department, Sgt. Wayne Griffin.

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle was traveling in the center northbound lane of the 2800 block of SE Evangeline Thruway. For unknown reasons, Hughes entered the roadway which caused the vehicle to hit him.
Hughes sustained fatal injuries and later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation is still ongoing.
