James Cannia Death | Obituary: A Mitchell man identified as 61-year-old James Cannia has died in a fatal vehicle accident that also injured two women in a late Tuesday afternoon accident that happened on Highway 6 west of Culbertson.
James Cannia was the driver of one of the two pickups that were involved in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cannia’s pickup came in collision with a pickup vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Shanel Barnard of Wauneta. A passenger in Barnard’s pickup was also said to have sustained injuries from the accident.
The name of Barnard’s passenger nor hometown were released but reports said it was a 17-year-old.
According to Nebraska State Patrol, Cannia was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The accident was reported to have occurred at exactly 5:12 p.m.
