I listened to this man talk to me about sports for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week for the last 5-6 years. Although I didn’t know him, it felt like I did. One of the greatest and all the best to his family & friends. Rip @JamieSamuelsen ❤️?? pic.twitter.com/jMKLKvunKe

I met @JamieSamuelsen last summer. Told him I’m a fan of the show. Instead of him just saying thanks, he chatted with me about TBB, wanted 2 know if I had kids and he even introduced me to his son. A great, down 2 earth guy. RIP. Gone but never forgotten. @bobwojnowski @stoney16

I am so sad and sorry to pass this along, at the family’s request. Jamie Samuelsen, the best damn friend you could ever have, a tremendous broadcaster on @971theticketxyt passed away tonight at 48. He was surrounded by his wonderful family, and he went peacefully.

One of the best to ever do it at @971theticketxyt always enjoyed listening to him and Wojo on my way home from work and more recently him and Stoney on my way to work. A fair commentator with an underrated sense of humor. RIP

I remember getting the news from my mom when JP McCarthy passed. We were living in British Columbia. After JP passed, we moved home shortly after. I began listening to Jamie Samuelsen. He reminded me of a young JP, wise beyond his years. Quick wit at just the right moment. RIP JB

So I ever met him or anything. But his voice has been in my daily routine in one time-slot or another for a LONG time. Even back when he was on WDFN on the AM radio. This shit hit harder than it should for just a “listener.” RIP! FUCK CANCER !!! @971theticketxyt @JamieSamuelsen

Not much of a fan of sports talk radio. Too much negativity. But Jamie Samuelsen was an exception. He had the ability to get his opinions across in a clear and thoughtful manner. RIP Jamie. Cancer sucks!

@JamieSamuelsen you gave the “lions miracle baby” a voice when the Lions finished their season 4-0 and swept the following preseason. They went 0-16 that year… She turns 10 this December. I’ll think fondly of you on her birthday and when the Lions go 16-0 next year. #rip

Finally got around to watching the Last Dance (ep #7) and who happens to appear at the Jordan retirement press conference in 1993 (front row) but none other than Jamie Samuelsen. He would’ve been only 21 at the time, I’m guessing still at Northwestern. RIP #jamiesamuelsen☹️

RIP Jamie. You were never afraid to take the hard stance and argue your point. You provided us with thought as well as ignited our passion for sports in our city. I know you were a Californian at heart; but we took you in and made you a Detroiter. God bless your family.
