Janice Matichuk Death | Janice Matichuk Obituary – We are deeply saddened to confirmed the death of Janice Matichuk. According to Andrew Kinslow (@bioteachk), Janice Matichuk would always ask for our bird lists so she could pass them on to the park biologist.
Janice Matichuk indeed was a legend. She’d spend every summer for the next 35 years at that cabin, checking in canoers, handing out permits, and educating people about the wilderness. Matichuk was diagnosed with brain cancer in June 2020. She died last week at the age of 66.
