This incident occurred around 11 p.m on Saturday, July 25.

According to the Police, Moriarty also suffered gun shot injuries before the crash in addition to injuries from the crash.

His death has been determined as homicide by the state medical examiner.

The police reports that a short time before the I-91 crash, the  police were called to the area of 200 Worthington Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, they found evidence at the scene of gunfire but no victims.

Preliminary investigation of the missing shot person led the officials to discover that Moriarty who was now involved in a crash is also the victim previously shot.

Springfield police and Gulluni’s office says, “it appears Moriarty had been shot on Worthington Street but fled the scene only to crash on the highway.”
