Jeffrey B. Gantt Death – The police has confirmed and released the identity of a man said to be a New York City businessman who drowned in Fort Pond as 42-year-old Jeffrey B. Gantt, of New York City.

The authorities says divers in a Long Island pond recovered Gantt’s body on Monday, July 20.

Gantt was trying to retrieve an oar lost from the rowboat before he fell off and got drowned, says police.

For two hours on Sunday evening, Police searched Fort Pond in Montauk, New York, and then again Monday before locating the body of Gantt, says authorities.

According to his profiles on social media, Gantt before his demise was the managing partner of Huckleberry Bar in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood.

The local East Hampton newspaper, The Independent reports that he was with three other people on the water.

East Hampton police was joined by other law enforcement agencies in the search. Divers used sonar to find Gantt’s body in 30 feet of water, says authorities.
