Four Dead in PAF Chopper Crash

John Chaney Death | Obituary –  John Chaney age 25 has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed on Tuesday night in a crash involving two other vehicles.

John Chaney, 25, of Plain Township, died after being transported by medics to Aultman Hospital, according to Rick Walters, an investigator with the Stark County Coroner’s Office.

Chaney was operating a motorcycle shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, when he entered an intersection at Genoa Avenue SW and Southway Street SW, according to a news release from the Perry Police Department.

A vehicle traveling west on Southway Street attempted to turn left onto Genoa and collided with the motorcycle driven by Chaney, as well as another motorcycle operator, the release states.

The official cause of the death is being investigated by the coroner’s office, said Walters on Thursday, adding that trauma is a probable element.

It is unclear whether the other motorcycle driver and motorist were injured.

We express our sympathy and deepest condolences to John Chaney’s family today and in the days, weeks, months, and years that are to come as they cope with his passing. May his soul rest in peace.
