I had the honor of briefly meeting #JohnLewis at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego. I’m sad that this current state of our country was his last view of it. We owe him and all the civil rights warriors. We all deserve better than what we are currently experiencing. RIP?? pic.twitter.com/JY4XK5ULvc

I met John Lewis flying from Chicago to Atlanta about 5 years ago. He shook hands with everyone who came up to him and listened to everything they had to say. He was a great orator, but he knew it was important to listen. Sad to think he’s gone. RIP #JohnLewis pic.twitter.com/xMkWwl2qbw

“Once people begin to see the similarities between themselves and others, instead of focusing on differences, they come to recognize that equality is essentially a matter of human rights and human dignity,” – John Lewis. I salute this American hero and may he RIP.

My favorite thing about John Lewis is that at ComicCon, he cosplayed as his younger self, wearing the same coat and backpack he wore at the March on Selma and led kids in a little march around the convention. ? pic.twitter.com/6T2sgRZehz

John Lewis deserved respect when alive, not when dead….Reflect on all the vile statements you made about him when alive.. Respect people when alive… stop calling names…Be Presidental, or else people will forget to respect the Office of the President.

PSA for Republicans: Please stop posting photos of yourself with John Lewis (or Elijah Cummings ?). Just stop. You were-at best-silent on civil rights, & mostly enablers of white supremacy & Trumpism. But once a civil rights hero is dead, you jump on the lionizing bandwagon.
— HawaiiDelilah™ (@HawaiiDelilah) July 19, 2020
John Lewis was a real leader who got into politics to correct injustices and to help people. Spineless politicians like you have led to 140,000 dead American bodies from COVID-19. Side by side, they would span 66 miles. They would fill 1,160 football fields.
