John Wheeler Death – The police are investigating the death of a man who was shot to death on Wednesday August 12, outside an apartment tower in Scarborough. The man has been identified as 45-year-old John Wheeler.
Preliminary reports states that at 3.30 a.m, Wheeler was waiting for a ride to work outside an apartment building at 1350 Danforth Road, located north of Eglinton Avenue East, on the faithful day when he was shot at by unknown gunmen.

Upon the arrival of the police, Wheeler was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to Wheeler’s stepson, his stepfather worked as a drywall installer and had lived in the building for the past 11 years.
“He is not known to police. He is a hard-working man. He lives in the neighborhood here,” says Lioumanis.
“Right now in regards to motive, there is no motive that I can suggest as to why he was targeted, if he was even targeted.”
Investigation is still ongoing.
