Jose Matos Death – The identity of the victim who was stabbed on Monday August 10, at a north Lawton Motel has been released by the Lawton police as Jose Matos.
This announcement was made by Sgt. Elijah Garcia, Lawton Police information officer.

Around 2.45 p.m on Monday, the police responded to a report of a stabbing at the Rodeway Inn, 3110 Cache Road. When they arrived the scene, they found Matos dead in the doorway, says Capt. Alvin Winham.
Efforts were made to revive him but they all proved futile. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Witness report revealed that the suspect was a white man who fled after the incident on a bicycle.
The suspect was later found hiding in some bushes near the crime scene and taken into custody, says Garcia.
The suspect remains in Lawton City Jail awaiting potential charges in Comanche County District Court.
This is recorded as the city’s 12th homicide of 2020.
