Justin Blanton Death | Justin Blanton Obituary – Justin Blanton, 19, was killed during a double shooting in the parking lot of a liquor store, police said. Reports says that Anthony Eberhart, 40, of Cameron Street who was accused of killing Justin Blanton has turned himself in. Anthony Eberhart turned himself in at the Hampden Hall of Justice on Wednesday morning, 19th of August 2020. Ryan Walsh, spokesman for Springfield Police says that Eberhart was arrested on a warrant charging him with murder, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
Reports from MassLive says that the crime started as a fight at about 9 p.m on Friday, 14th of August, 2020 in the parking lot of One Stop Discount Liquors, 477 Central St. Eberhart and Justin Blanton apparently began shooting at each other and Blanton suffered a fatal gunshot wound during the battle. Walsh said after allegedly shooting Blanton, Eberhart started to drive away. While backing up, he ran over Blanton and dragged him for several feet. While this was occurring, Andre Blanton, 27, picked up a gun and also started shooting. He suffered at least one wound during the gun battle and accidentally shot himself when he tried to return fire.
According to MassLive, Andre Blanton is facing several charges including armed assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number during a felony, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license. He was still a patient at Baystate Medical Center on Monday.
