Justin Cheramie Arrest – 39-year-old Justin Cheramie was arrested by the Morgan City Police on the charge of a hit-and-run incident that happened on Thursday morning after hitting one motorcycle and causing two other motorcycles to crash sustaining serious injuries.

Cheramie was on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of an open alcohol beverage in his vehicle, felony hit and run, possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance, two counts of first-degree vehicular negligent injury and vehicle negligent injuring.

The authorities responded to a call around 12:05am in the La. 70 area near Veterans Boulevard of a serious hit and run vehicle incident. upon arrival, the officers discovered that the crash involved a truck and three motorcycles and that the truck already fled the scene.

Following investigations, officials discovered that the truck driver had crossed the center line and hit one of the motorcyclist. Due to this striking by the truck, two other Motorcyclist attempted to avoid the truck resulting to them crashing.

The driver of one of the motorcycles who was in a critical condition was airlifted to Trauma Center and another driver who sustained injuries including broken bones was taken to Oschner St. Mary for treatment, while the third driver was treated on the scene.

The driver of the truck who fled was later located after he called the Morgan City Police Department to report that he had been involved in an accident. He was arrested after investigation and taken to the Morgan City Police Department, where he was given a field sobriety test, which he did poorly on.

Cheramie was made to submit to an alcohol test with the results of .346 g%.

He was later checked into the Morgan City Police Department .
