A man was noticed fleeing from the scene before the first officer could render help to Williams. The man was pursued, but the police lost sight of him in the 2500 block of Sharon Lane.

The search for the man continued with the Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 Unit, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office and the Coosada Police Department while K-9s tracked him to a business in the 2300 block of Main Street. They lost him again as it seems like a vehicle picked him up.

The Millbrook fire-rescue personnel treated Williams at the scene before he was taken to Baptist South Emergency Room with life threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

It was also reported that the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick-up truck seen at the scene, was reported stolen out of Tallessee.
