Lee Teng-hui Death | Lee Teng-hui Obituary – We have been informed about the sudden demise of Lee Teng-hui. He is a Taiwanese statesman who was the fourth president of the Republic of China and chairman of the Kuomintang from 1988 to 2000. Lee Teng-hui redefined Taiwan’s relations with China and guided the island on its path to democracy. He was the first president of the Republic of China to be born in Taiwan. During his presidency, Lee oversaw the end of martial law, full democratization of the ROC, advocated the Taiwanese localization movement, and led an ambitious foreign policy to gain allies around the world.
He passed away on Thursday, 30th of July 2020 at the age of 97. Mr. Lee passed away at 7:24 p.m. local time at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment since February after choking on milk, according to Taiwan’s state-owned Central News Agency.
