Luis Rodriguez Death | Luis Rodriguez Obituary – Luis Rodriguez, 60, of Bronx was killed by a stray bullet outside his home. The children of Luis Rodriguez are figuring out how to pick up the pieces and care for Luis Rodriguez’s youngest son with special needs. “It’s going to be hard,” said Amy Rodriguez, 22, daughter of slain Luis Rodriguez, 60. “We didn’t expect him to pass away like that. We weren’t expecting him to leave this early.”
According to DailyNews, Rodriguez was having a beer with a friend outside his building on E. 179th St. in Crotona when he was hit in the torso by a stray slug from a drive-by shooting around 2 a.m on Friday, 21st of August 2020. Two other men were wounded. They were both identified as Rodriguez’s 54-year-old friend, Victor Palonco, who was struck in the right arm and buttocks by the spray of bullets and a 36-year-old man was hit in the buttocks. Both were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
News release states that ‘BBQ Man’ was written on a box holding candles as part of a memorial to Rodriguez set up outside his home after the shooting. Neighbors explained he was known for throwing picnics for all the kids and taking care of his youngest child, an 8-year-old son with special needs.
