Lyle G. Marrington Death – The Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center has identified a man who fell into the bay at the docks in Charleston on the 8th of July, as 64-year-old Lyle G. Marrington of Brookings.
According to the police reports, as at yesterday, at 2:30 pm, after receiving several calls on a man who fell into the bay and was unresponsive, personnel from Charleston Fire Department, Bay Cities Ambulance, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.

Marrington was removed from the water but all life saving efforts made on him proved futile.
His family members have been notified on this sad news, and the family is thankful for the response of all first responders to the scene.
Adding to that, the Sheriff’s Office would also like to thank the several individuals who were extremely helpfully during this incident.
