South Dakota Accident – The Washington state man that was involved and died in a late night motorcycle crash on Friday on north of Hot Springs, South Dakota has been identified as 37-year-old Michael Rowland, of Pasco, Washington, says the authorities.

According to the press release from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, at about 10:40pm, Rowland was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson FLHXS  southbound on U.S. Highway 385 when a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix headed northbound collided with him.

Rowland who was not wearing a helmet was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the spot.

The driver of the Grand Prix, identified as Andrew Johnson, 29, of Hot Springs, received serious although non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to a Rapid City hospital.

The Grand Prix had three juvenile passengers in the vehicle and they received minor injuries. The four occupants in the Grand Prix were on seat belt.

Investigation is ongoing and being handled by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
