Mr. Filippos was found dead in his residence in Bucharest. The police has opened a case for suspicious death, which is standard procedure in Romania taking into account the circumstances and the diplomatic rank of the deceased.
Mr. Filippos Kritiotis was 62 years old and he was appointed ambassador to Romania in July 2019. According to sources, the death occurred on Saturday night, possible from natural causes. The ambassador’s body is currently examined at the mortuary to find out more about the circumstances of the tragic event.
