Natasha Renee Summerlin Death – The Lee County Sheriff’s office on Saturday got a 911 call at about 8:20 p.m of a drowning on Lake Harding near the train trestle.
Upon the officers arrival, they discovered that a woman identified as 41-year-old Natasha Renee Summerlin, of Sharpsburg, GA, went underwater.

According to reports, Summerlin was riding in a boat with her friend, got out of the boat and went under water.Her friend made attempts to save her but couldn’t locate her before placing the 911 call.
Summerlin’s body was later found by the rescue personnel on Sunday, July 12, about 11:49 a.m close to where she was last seen in about 29-30 feet under water. It is believed that she couldn’t swim.
Following investigations, no foul play is suspected, and the incident is more of an accidental drowning.
A postmortem examination is being carried out on Summerlin’s body by the medical examiner’s office of the Alabama Dept. of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery.
The search team were the Lee County Sheriff’s office, Lee County EMA, Beulah Fire and Rescue, Chambers County EMA, Tallapoosa Rescue Squad, East Alabama Swift Water Rescue, Chambers County Dive Team and Alabama Game & Fish.
Investigation is still ongoing and handled by the Lee County Sheriff and the Lee County Coroner.
