Anthony Cooper, of Ohio, a 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident that happened on Saturday night around 10:15 p.m just of the intersection with Powers.
Cooper died late Saturday night after he was hit by an SUV on Platte Avenue.
Officer that was on his way, responding to another call found the vehicle crash scene.
“The same time this was coming in [to 911], an officer was actually on his way to another call and rolled up and saw this traffic crash,” said Lt. Jim Sokolik with the Colorado Springs Police Department. “When the officer got out, he found a male party on the ground.”
Anthony Cooper was still alive but barely, and died at the scene despite repeated life-saving measures by first responders.
